It has caught my attention that some players misuse the infinite freezes on the server. While they’re supposed to add fun and strategy, some players constantly suicide with them, ruining the experience for everyone else. It disrupts teamwork and makes matches feel unbalanced. I’ve even seen some players leave because of this.

I don’t think the solution is to get rid of infinite freezes altogether—they’re part of what makes the game fun. But maybe we could make some changes to keep things fair, such as:

  1. Cooldowns: A short wait time between uses might stop players from spamming freezes and encourage more thoughtful gameplay.

  2. Limits per round: Capping the number of freezes per player each round could reduce chaos while keeping the feature enjoyable.

I’d love to hear what others think. Are these changes fair? Do you have better ideas? Let’s work together to keep the server fun for everyone.

I respectfully disagree. While it is a travesty that some players suicide with them, to impose a cooldown or a max limit to freeze nades would be unfair, but that's just my opinion. I'll leave it to @ ire to see what is deemed appropriate.

Thank you, @ CrazyChris  for sharing your view. While I understand your point, the misuse of freeze nades disrupts gameplay and frustrates other players. Implementing a cooldown isn’t intended as a punishment but rather as a way to encourage fair use and improve the overall experience.

Yes, imposing a strict limit might go too far. However, introducing a small cooldown to prevent an endless barrage and to give others a chance to escape seems reasonable and fair.

The issue you are addressing happens only (?) in a few maps that have trigger_hurt and I know a few players who tend to do it more or less often. Sometimes other players join the party when they see someone doing it but other than that this issue is not really global (in all maps). So I don't see a point to add any restrictions that will just make the gameplay worse for 99.999% of players just because of what you can do in a few maps. Admins can just simply kick/forcespec those players who disrupt the game in this way.

I play 1 month on the server freeze with grenades or HE spam many players only when many zombies in a bunch it is part of the game I only freeze when needed with HE grenades it is often done because the zombies burn nicely but you can't use it often because you need money, which already has a cooldown if you remove so it won't be fun anymore then I wouldn't come on the server anymore, you have to do the freeze and burn when you are the last survivor and depend on this stuff otherwise Nide server is no fun remember what I said.

Hey @ qq. . Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. However, I think the main point of the discussion might have been missed. It’s not about whether freeze and HE grenades are part of the game, but rather about how their use affects the overall balance and enjoyment for everyone on the server. The concern is to ensure the gameplay remains fun and fair for all players. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts, and hopefully, this helps clarify the issue!

    • hello maxing  after i reviewed the demo for more details and i concluded that ned item can be used aggressively to defend zms (as ransmi the mapper mentioned that ) but mobile seems that he went too far and jumped inside zms often and often then in jump part he couldn't make the jump bcs he was getting damaged by zms but the defense was kinda bad so he failed and died. although he has to be much more careful since Ned item needed for later part to heal teammates, i hope this case wont happen again or there will be more decisions have to be taken same thing goes for other stuffs  as for Harraga said, he mentioned that doesnt know the map well which is hard to believe, as an admin you shouldn't tell players to doorhug (where some doors explode) bcs its not  good at all from admin perspective. topic closed
    • That first demo clip has half the team doing nothing jerking off to anime sprays at the top maybe if a real ∑SΣӼ leader was on they would have told the players to stay down and defend. Mobile using Ned that way is the best way to use it and he's the only reason why zombies didn't get up sooner to be honest.
    • it might be crazy for some but theres this feature that nide runs right now its called !selfmute it mutes people in your end so you dont hear them i dont know if this feature is used much these days but it can really help
    • I'm gonna butt in and say this cause multiple people have asked.  Using Ned to aggressively overdefend like that isnt trolling. You practically get 20+ seconds of invulnerability if used right and is pretty much the "meta" thing to do especially if the Bart player is also doing it. In the clip you posted you hardly lost because of him getting swarmed, being unable to make the jump, and losing heal. When you climb the ladder you can see like half or more of the team being stacked in the corner on top not even bothering to defend.  Maybe if this was repeated behavior across multiple rounds it would be trolling but from just the clip you posted what he was doing what he should have been doing with an item like that.
