Hello,

This thread will probably bring me a bit of hate but it's mostly to know what are your thoughts on this.
You can just answer the poll, debate in the comments or even both.

Firstly I don't want to force anything or say that this setting or this one is better.
Each servers have their own kind of settings, but that does not mean we cannot try something else, it could be during an event with temporary cfg, if it's sh*t we skip it, if it's good we can maybe think about implementing it.

So far, from what I saw on the server the KB (KnockBack) on zombies is really high, it's a bit tiring as a zombie to tryhard a lot with bhop and sh*t just to grasp the frontline and get pushed back to space.
Even tho the KB is high humans still loose some easy defense for some reason. ¯\_( ͠° ͟ʖ °)_/¯

The bhop is also a bit too easy, I guess it's for compensating with the high KB.
But it leads to bhopers playing around with it and not defending, or just racing to the end of the map and leaving the players that can't bhop or players that are just willing to defend alone, the frontlane die round is over, repeat then rtv.
I know bhoping around is fun, you feel the virtual wind in your virtual hair, you feel like you're flash mcqueen during the piston cup, but in the end the round is lost and we just waste map after map.
And as zm, for the really good bhopers it can be impossible to stop them once they reach a high velocity. (I know you have to stop them getting speed, but on some maps you just can't)

So what I want to try is to :
- Lower the KB in general, and lower it more on Mother Zombies
- Lower the ability to bhop so easily
- Increase the Defender protection to top 5 or 6, encouraging players to defend more.

What do you guys think?

And don't get me wrong, I don't want to force the change and I don't say that the current settings are bad. They are fun, they can be frustrating but they are fun in general.
I'm just thinking about making them (maybe) a bit more balanced.

- The mother zombie kb could be an interesting thing. That these zombies have a less KB than infected zombies. I'll try to bring that up.

- The bhop is a bit high but it also feels kinda rewarding with that high kb in a way and I think lowering that it would be even harding for zms maybe? idk

- The top defender if increased can sadly do so people will be become twice mother zombie in a row more often and that is not a great way.

My opinions

Reducing the high bhop could be compensated by lowering the KB.
Good bhoper could still manage to bhop, but with less speed.
Obviously I know that it's easier to say it, because behind that it's just numbers and we can't figure it out right away without testing.

Yeah I didn't see it that way tbh.
But isn't there a mother zombie protection?

What is the % of mother zombie spawn depending the number of humans alive?

bhop is literally easier on unloze, its the same settings as nide but with a higher aa

Maybe you're right idk the value of each settings. But so far the feeling I have is that bhop feels harder on Unloze than on NiDE. And I'm not a very good bhop I'm around mid/sh*t tier. But I can do some "decent" bhop streak on NiDE that I can't on Unloze.

theres no plugins to make bhop easier on either server

its easier to get speed as zm on nide due to high kb but thats it

I see, maybe it's due to the high kb that I feel like it's easier on nide 🤔

在任一服務器上都沒有使 bhop 更容易的插件

由於高 kb, 它更容易像nide 上的 zm 一樣獲得速度,但僅此而已

no i have no interest for playing a dogsh*t russian server with half the players being bots and the management being incompetent enough to get his own steam account hacked that runs some sh*tty ezbhop plugin too apparently

    • While I agree with what Chris said, speaking from my experience on the admin team, here’s how I see it.   I’ve seen Lackin around, and it’s clear there’s genuine interest in supporting the server, particularly during those late EU hours when things tend to get more chaotic. That kind of awareness is important, and it’s good to see someone willing to step up where help is needed.   That said, being an admin is more than just being present. It’s about consistent activity, clear communication, and leading by example. Right now, there’s still room to grow in those areas. The recent activity is a good start, and I’d like to see that continue. Improving clarity, both in chat and on the forums, would also help build trust with both players and staff.   So for now, just like Chris, I’ll be staying neutral but I’m leaning toward a +1 if you can maintain your presence and address the points mentioned.   With that said, good luck with the rest of your application.
    • I agree with @ CrazyChris  that the application is too early. But I think it's good so +1 from me and we'll see what he can do in his trial admin if he gets accepted. good luck.
    • Thank you first of all for responding to the application, I have thought about that too but I believe I've got my spot into the playerbase already. I've met the current active playerbase and believe that I could be a right fit but this is true, however my dedication wont change and I still want to make a positive for nide as ive been playing for multiple years.
    • It's rare that I reply to an application this fast, but given that I have seen you play in the past, there are exceptions to the rule. As per usual, any candidate that applies will get my 100% unbiased opinion. Here goes: I have seen you in the past before on the server & never had any issue with you. However, given that you just recently returned to the server after a long time, I feel like you applied too soon, rather than giving yourself the necessary time before feeling that you're 100% ready to submit an application. With that being said, that does it for my opinion towards your application Verdict - Neutral Best of luck with your application.
    • -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ingame Nickname: Lackin Discord username: w6lp Age: 18 SteamID: STEAM_0:1:525867827 What server are you applying for (ZR or ZE server?): ZR Optional: (Feel free to answer one or more questions) Why are you interested in applying for admin? I wish to apply for a staff position, as I have witness a repetitive trend of inactive staff during EU night time . During these hours, the server typically remains under-moderated, with constantly rule-breaking by the players. Personally me being online during these house I've witness the trend of constantly rule breaking, I have seen numerous examples of rule breaking where this lack of enforcement can potentially lose a key player base of an NA playerbase, recognizing that this doesn't fix. I believe my own attendance and commitment in those hours might perhaps be capable of preventing currently existing stuff like this from happen, ensuring that the rules are enforced it allows the environment to be calm and fair. What time zone are you active in (NA or EU hours)? EU Hours How long have you been playing on the server which you applied for? I've been playing NiDE ZR on and off for the past 4 years for now but recently when I've came back ive played for around 2 weeks, 2 days playtime within 7 days as the server reset the playtime from hlstats How experienced are you in the gamemode for which you applied? I have around 3-4k hours on Counter-Strike Source, id say about 1k hours was played throughout ZR servers, also some of that time was played on ZE however it was mainly on ZR/ZM servers. Do you have any past admin experience? CS SOURCE EXPERIENCE I have a strong background in being a staff member, particularly in Counter-Strike: Source, where I’ve spent years  in gaining  experience managing communities. I’ve held several staff positions across various servers, which has given me a solid understanding of how to enforce rules fairly, handle reports efficiently, and maintain a positive player environment. My experience as a moderator on multiple CSS servers provided me with a chance to improve my conflict resolution and communications skills by effectively resolving conflicts professionally without causing or conflicting more argument or drama involved. I've learnt how to use SourceMod (SM) admin fluently I am comfortable with the use of SM commands as simple as ban and kick rule-breaking players. Also features like gagging, silence, and executing admin scripts where the latter is supported in.  I have also been a Head Admin on a Counter-Strike: Source Jailbreak server, where not only did I need to be a rule enforcer but also handle a staff team. That experience gave me valuable leadership experience and taught me how to be authoritative and yet relatable. I’m confident that this experience, combined with my technical knowledge and deep understanding of community managing, makes me a strong candidate for an admin position. I’m ready to bring that same level of dedication and professionalism to this server.   GMOD EXPERIENCE Apart from playing on Counter-Strike: Source servers, I have also been a staff member on various Garry’s Mod roleplay servers. As a staff member on those servers, it made me improve at dealing with the community and enforcing rules. Roleplay settings are particularly difficult due to the intricate scenarios and various people present. Nevertheless, I have carried out these tasks with professionalism and patience at all times. These positions required me to be present, know what is occurring, and be well aware of the server rules and roleplay rules. I am familiar with ULX, which is a built-in admin tool for GMod. It is like using SM Admin  in the sense of the command arrays are basically identical for example like @aim etc . This may be handling griefers, resolving issues that players have, or administering technical assistance within the game. Being able to use both ULX and SM Admin makes me able to handle various games or server configurations. This makes me a versatile and valuable staff member. What has benefited me the most from being a staff member in roleplay servers is that it has made me able to understand everyone. When I was younger, I used to jump on reports immediately, but with time and experience, I have learned to be cautious. I always hear both sides of the story, consider the bigger picture, and handle each report objectively. This has gained me plenty of respect from other players and staff members, and I take a lot of pride in that. In my personal opinion, being a staff member on Garry's Mod is a bit more complex than CSS as how heavy it is in roleplay. Other skills that I've learnt from being a staff member is the fact that it has made me think more logically than being hasty. There's been multiple reports that I have taken which looked like an easy punishment for the other player, but once I've heard their point of view its vastly changed. I believe a lot of people lack in this skill as a staff member, they are too fast in giving out punishment before understanding both of the players views.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my application, feel free to leave any constructive criticism about my application or me as a player in general it would be beneficial to me. Hope you guys have a good day!
