How to run faster?

I saw some player run sightly faster than most everyone else (who just hold W). I known the run strafe (look 30 degree side, spam A/D). Just saw a steam's article that teach bind shift "+movedown" but have not try myself. I want to know more methods.

is the mp5 setting nide specific?

use cl_showpos 1 to check your velocity and angles, then just spam a or d and look to the side with scout or mp5. if you're close to a wall just hug it then keep looking for good angles and you'll see your velocity going up

Running with an MP5 doesn't make you any faster. The speed is the same as the other SMGs.

I thought it was with carrying a HE but you got like +1 or +2

p90 - 245
tmp/mp5 - 250
m249 - 210
m3 - 220
ak - 221
m4 - 230
pistols - 250
he - 250
knife - 250

These are the default speeds you get while holding out these guns and holding w
I dont know if nide has changed these speeds (like how the scout runspeed is 250 instead of 260 on unloze). If not, then this is correct

I have gone through several "W" keys just in 2023 alone. This strat works

you can wall run if you have a flat wall next to you similarly to how you strafe run you press W and D or A depending on the side of the wall unlike strafe running you hold the keys instead of spamming them
